4. Giving an agent hands
Skill
A packaged, reusable instruction set an agent loads for a particular job — a recipe card: "when reviewing contracts, check these eight clauses, in this order, output this format." Written once, in plain language, invoked forever.
Why it matters: skills are how your expertise becomes the agent's standard practice — and they're written in prose, which makes them the most knowledge-worker-editable part of the whole stack.
Every engineering team should have an in-house skill library. So should every knowledge-worker team — legal, finance, support, operations. The people who know how the work is really done are the ones who should be writing them, and they don't need a developer to do it.
