Memory bank

Files where an agent's durable knowledge lives between sessions: decisions made, lessons learned, project state, rules discovered the hard way. The conversation is working memory; the memory bank is the filing cabinet.

Why it matters: without one, every session starts from amnesia and repeats old mistakes. Writing learnings back is what turns an agent from a temp into a colleague who improves.

A good memory bank is one of the most valuable things a company or a team can build. It's your accumulated judgement — the calls you made, the reasons, the things that went wrong once and must never go wrong again — written down somewhere it actually gets read. Most of that currently lives in a few people's heads and walks out of the building with them.
