A pharmacist may need to find a warning, interaction, or instruction quickly while a customer is waiting. Official medicine documents contain the answer, but they are slow to search in the middle of a counter conversation.
What was built
The project brings together Bencium and Greek and Spanish partners through a winning European-funded collaboration. The prototype retrieves from a curated set of official European medicine documents and answers only from the material it found. If the source does not contain the answer, it says so. The interface supports multilingual counter-side conversations and separates one customer session from the next. Retrieval and typo-handling gaps remain, so the case does not claim perfect correctness.
What made it different
The narrow audience makes the product stronger. It is not a general health chatbot; it is a source-bounded tool for a pharmacist doing a specific job under time pressure. Refusal is part of the normal experience, not an error state hidden at the edge.
At the pharmacy counter, “the source does not answer this” is safer and more useful than a plausible guess.
